RockNRoller Coaster...

Has anyone out there been on this attraction? I haven't yet and I must admit it scares me more than a bit!

I recently downloaded a video of the attraction and was amazed at the speed with which the cars shoot out of the loading area!
I'd really like to hear from some people that survived this ride before I try it myself!

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

I've done it several times and it is really great. After that initial launch you do go pretty fast but it's a fairly smooth ride. I will admit the first time I rode it I was walking sideways when I got off and had to get a Coke and take a break afterwards! After that it wasn't so bad. The worst part to me is they BLARE Aerosmith right in your ears through speakers in the head rest. It is very loud and usually give me a headache. I really don't see the point in having it that loud.

Thanks, Disney Debbie!

I guess that's why they call it RockNroller Coaster! I'm a little worried about the decibels as well!

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Cruella, if I can do it anyone can!

I was scared to death (HORRIFIED was more the word) and had to go on it! My husband was really looking forward to this ride... Well the first trip on it I kept my eyes closed and when the ride was over, I discovered that I was still alive! Now, my husband LOVED IT! and we had to go right out and get a fastpass ticket to do it again. This next trip I kept my eyes open and really had a great time! I was amazed that you really don't notice being upside down it happens so quick! We did this ride a total of 4 times that day... I think he still would be on it if we were there!

This ride is very smooth! I find Space Mt. to be rough compared to this one. I can't do the Merry-go-round or the tea cups as they go in circles but do enjoy the ToT and RnR.........

I have to admit..... I LIKE IT! I LIKE IT

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

THANKS debe & Disney Debbie
I love almost ALL the rides at WDW, but trying to get my DW(Cruella) on some of the faster rides is always a challange! I am looking forward to the R&R and hope my DW will join us. Our kids will be older this time (10&14) so even if Cruella won't go with me one of my kids will I hope!!
We already know that the ToT & Space Mtn will be done without Cruella!!

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Enough, WildForWd! OK, so I'm a wimp when it comes to thrill rides. But to me it isn't pleasure if you are so scared to board a ride that you don't even get a chance to see all the special touches. Call me crazy, but being scared to death is NOT my idea of fun!

I may try this one though...I hear it is so dark that I won't be able to see my impending doom!

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Cruella,

Where did you download the video of RNR Coaster? I haven't been to WDW since this ride was added so I'm very curious to see it. And since we just recently acquired a cablemodem, I'm flying on the Net!

Thanks!
Jana

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Hi Jana and welcome to the board!

Thanks to wdwmagic for the video! You can download it by going here: http://www.wdwmagic.com/video5.htm

I really enjoyed it even if it is very dark! You get a real sense of how FAST this ride really is. Don't expect to hear the music, though.

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Boy am I slow! I just finally put WildForWD & Cruella together....

There is no bigger chicken than I when it comes to rides and I really enjoyed this one! It is FAST, you are through the ride before you really know it! Love the music!

I really don't think I could do a ride such as this if it wasn't in the dark and knowing how particular Disney is with safety it made it much easier to go on it!

GIVE IT A TRY CRUELLA! I did!

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Yes, debe, WildForWD is my DH and since we work different schedules (me, day & he, night) we sometimes use the boards to communicate!

I THINK I may try this ride - but if I get sick, debe, I'll be letting you know when I return!

Jana,

It is a great site, isn't it! I love to get previews of the rides that are new since I last visited and the Rumors section is wild!

Enjoy!

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Hi Everyone!
We have no fear! We will try ANYTHING once! But I have two questions about this ride since you're all talking about it. I am a fairly small person and often get banged around on coasters. Anyone else ever have this problem and if you do can you let me know how you did on this one? On the other end of the spectrum, my DH is on the large side. Any thoughts for him?

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Hi ThePoohBear!

Well, as you already know, I haven't gone on this ride yet, and, unfortunately, I don't share your problem of being small! I am more in your husband's category, so I thought I'd pass along some info that may be of help to him...

In deb wills site there is a section called WDW at Large and it describes the seating capabilities of all the rides. You can go here to check it out:
http://wdwig.com/ridsiz.htm

If you click on the RockNRoller section, you will also be able to enjoy a first hand account of the ride by a 'fraidy cat like myself!

Re: RockNRoller Coaster...

Thanks Cruella! I did go to that sight and was so happy to read the report. He can be kind of self-conscious and I think it would have hurt him to get in line and then not be able to ride. Now I know we have nothing to worry about. Disney makes everything perfect, don't they!?! Thanks for your help!
