Calling all "bigger" people (Mummy ride)

I recently read somewhere that said this about the Mummy ride....

The seats are tight. (Four rows of four). The harness comes down over your lap and will fit tightly. We have read that extra-large guests may experience a problem sitting in these seats and may not be able to ride.

My husband and I are of the "bigger" persuation, if you will..... we will be going with his sister and her husband (who are of normal size) I'm just wondering if any of you who are bigger got to experience this ride? I don't want to stand in line forever and get up there and realize I don't fit. My hubby will probably want to ride also, he's 5'10" about 250 lbs. Me, let's just say....I'm 5'3" and bigger than him....I've had no problems over at Disney the last time I went but haven't been to Universal in about 6yrs.

Could someone help me out on this one? And are there any other "tight" rides that I should know about?

Thanks for helping out on this embarrasing question......

I'm 6'3" and around 280 lbs. and I fit OK into the Mummy. My legs are longer than my torso, though. The legroom is pretty tight -- slightly less tight than the legroom in coach on an airplane! I don't mean to be offensive, but if you have a big belly or large legs, you might have trouble fitting. As always, when in doubt, use the test seats outside the entrance or ask a Universal Team Member. They will be able to tell you if you can fit or not.

Ya know, I have never seen these test seats. are they in front of everyone? I mean, will everyone know what I'm doing? Or is it off to the side, discreetly somewhere?

My DH is a big guy, 6'1" and about a 44 inch waist. He has rode the Mummy several times, although once they did act like the restraint wouldn't fit. It did though.

The restraint for the Mummy ride is right outside the entrance. The harness does come over the head/shoulders and is tight, but that ride is really cool and intense. (Think Space Mountain--intensified).

Actually, the Mummy does not have an over the shoulder restraint. The Mummy only has a lapbar.
