| Universal during Halloween Horror Nights? We are going to go there October 6 and October 7 ... then transfer to Disney on the 8th for the remainder of our vacation. I'm wondering now if that isn't a good idea? How early will the parks close in preparation for this? Is HHN in both the parks? My kids are wimps (affectionately spoken - grinning), so i know they won't want to go there. That could be a time for us to do City walk .. they love wrestling, maybe go to that wrestling place there? Yikes ... i'm just a fish out of water at Universal!! |

| I haven't heard of any solid details for HHN this year, only rumors. HHN could be at Universal Studios or IOA. We'll probably see more information during the summer. As for crowds, they're pretty moderate during the days. HHN crowds can be huge, particularly on Saturday nights. Saturdays tend to have wall to wall people. The off-peak nights (Thursdays and Sundays) still have large crowds. Universal currently shoots TNA wrestling in one of the sound stages. I've never done a taping, though.

| Universal parks closed early even without a special event.

| We went last year, and the parks closed at 6 (the event was scheduled for 6:30PM to 2:00AM) for this event. It was at Universal Studios only. It is NOT a party to be attended by the feint of heart, easily scared, or little children. Their sole purpose in life during the party is to scare the crap out of you, and they go to great efforts to accomplish that goal. Alcohol is readily available and, as the night goes on, many of the folks are getting really soused... I'm glad we attended at least once, however, I prefer MNSSHP (especially since I don't drink and don't do e-rides)

| I have to agree with Bill (LizardCop) about the scary factor. HHN was only in US and I think the IoA stayed open an hour or two longer than US the day of HHN that we attended. Universal closed at 5 or 6 p.m. and I think IoA was open until 6 or 7 p.m. I didn't think the parks were any more crowded before HHN started so that shouldn't be a factor; the crowds seemed to build during the night. However, I definitely would not take children to HHN -- heck, I'm not even sure that I belonged there! ![]()

| The park where HHN is not at usually closes at 7 pm. The park where HHN is at generally closes at 5:30 pm or 6:00 pm. HHN is definitely not a kid's event, although once in a while, you do see people taking little kids into the event. I saw a family with a 3 year old in a stroller. The stroller wheels sqeuaked so much that it was spookier than the Scare-actors! I would not suggest the event for people under 14 or 15 years old, although you know your kids better than anyone else. There are plenty of kids' Halloween events in Orlando, like MNSSHP and Sea World's Spooktacular.

| Another vote for not taking kids to HHN. As the evening wears on, a good portion of the crowd will be well lubricated from all the alcohol. It's a fun party, but not for kids. Seaworld Spooktakular (sp?) is pretty tame
