Horror nights questions-for this weekend

Hi,

My DH and his friend are thinking of doing horror nights at Universal this Friday. They were wondering are the rides open during this event or is it just the haunted houses/entertainment. They are wondering if it's worth the $70.

Thanks for your help.

Most of the major rides are open during HHN, like Jaws, Mummy, Twister, Jimmy Neutron, MIB, etc. I believe the KidZone is closed during HHN, so no Barney for you!

I would say HHN is worth the $. It's one of the best Halloween events in the U.S. If you do go, arrive early and try to do Stay and Scream if possible. Stay and Scream means that you can enter the park at 5 pm if you have a valid day ticket and stay in a special holding area. Several haunted houses open early, so you can have a minimal wait for the haunted houses. Please note that as the night progresses, the wait times can be very long. I've heard of wait times approaching 90 minutes!

Also, if they do go, I'd recommend getting the HHN Express passes. They're extra $, but well worth every penny, particularly if you're going during a crowded Saturday. I believe there are discounts on the Halloween Horror Nights website, like a Coke can discount. I've seen a Burger King discount in the past. Check it out at:

Have fun!

I only paid $30 when I went last year, but everything was open, including ET (which I think is in KidZone, which is closed as Barry said) And to also echo what Barry said, definately get the Express pass, it is definately worth the money. We didn't buy it last year because it was sold out, but we waited 90 minutes for one haunted house and about 120 for the Mummy. The shortest wait was ET and that was about 30.

I always try to go during the week or on a Sunday night. Crowds on fri/sat nights can get pretty crazy! HHN is definetly worth it though!
