Can we walk?

Has anyone stayed at the Days Inn that is right by Universal? It says it is only .6 miles from Universal, and we were wondering if there was a way to walk there, or if it is like Disney and almost impossible? Thought we'd save the parking money if it was a possibility. THANKS!

We stayed there a few years back. And yes you can walk but there is a major rode you have to cross so be careful.

We have never stayed there, but we did drive past it this summer while at HR, and yes it is very much in walking distance to the park.

I have a friend who always stays there when he visits Orlando. He calls the hotel "sleazy," but I guess it's OK with him. The walk is about 20-25 minutes. It's not a hop and a skip to the parks, but it can be walked.

I think there's a Days Inn up the road at the corner of Kirkman and International Drive that looks nicer, but I've never stayed there.

Thanks to everyone! 20-25 minutes is a doable walk for us, so we can save on parking!

We are only staying two nights there. We had planned to come on Sunday, which is when I booked Saratoga Springs, but we got a $200 per person cheaper airfare if we left out on Friday, so we decided to stay somewhere cheap and do two days at Universal. As long as there aren't bugs, I can handle sleazy! Or at least I hope I can.

OMG, please don't stay there! There are lots of other budget-conscious hotels that are walking distance. We stayed there almost 2 years ago with DD's cheer team for a USO competition. It was moldy, dirty and gross and I will never stay at another Days Inn again. Yes, it is walking distance, but not worth it IMHO. Last year we stayed at Best Western--much better and free breakfast, too. They also had a shuttle to the park.

I agree with Wishes, my best friend and I stayed there, as close as it is, it smelled sooo bad, like mold and just yuk, we bought insense to cover it up.
it is within walking distance, but I would go with another place. Most places all have the free shuttles to the park. there were no bugs, but I know there are better hotels right there within the same price range.
