We are planning a trip in October. We will be spending a couple of days at US and IOA. What characters are out and about? Do they sign autographs or are they there just for picture ops?

At Universal, I've seen Shrek & Donkey behind the Shrek theater. They are usually at a "Meet & Greet" station where you can stand in line for photos and autographs. We've had our picture taken with Shaggy, Scooby, and the Mystery Machine, but that was several years ago. I've seen Sponge Bob & Dora. Curious George does a little show near the CG play area. Rocky & Bullwinkle once posed for pictures with us in front of the entrance to US. The characters from Madagascar often come out for photos and autographs. We've seen the "Men in Black" a couple of times. And there are some Eqyptian characters walking around on stilts in front of the Mummy. You can pose for pictures with them. Sometimes Lucy, Ricky, and Marilyn Monroe can be spotted near the Lucy exhibit. Doc Brown used to show up at Back to the Future, but since that attraction closed I doubt he's there. I've heard the Simpsons may be spotted there.

At IOA, you can see lots of Superheroes. Spiderman has photo ops in the store across from Dr. Doom. The Green Goblin was great with my DS posing for a shot. There is a little parade of superheroes through Marvel Super Hero Island every day. I think Capt. America and Storm is in the parade. We saw The Grinch in Suess Land during Christmas. I can't remember if we've seen other characters at IOA, but I'm sure there are some other Passporters who can help with character sightings.

We also saw Shrek outside the entrance to US. He's huge!
