Favorite Dining At Universal

Starting to finalize plans for Universal portion of our trip next month. In the past we've dined at the Nascar Cafe and Margaritaville. Now the DD and DS are older 14 and 12 so we are hoping to try some different spots. What is your favorite spot for Dinner? We will be staying at Hard Rock.

I'm not very fond of the Hard Rock Cafe. It's mediocre food at high prices. The steak is pretty good, though.

If you're staying that HRH, try the Kitchen. I would definitely try Tchop Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort. Make your reservations today!

Thanks for the tips - I made reservations at Tchop Chop. My DS is a huge food network fan and is thrilled that we will be eating at one of Emeril's restaurants. We always do a Wolfgang at Downtown Disney so this will be something comparable.

I like Tchop Chop. Remember to eat your food with chopsticks! If you really want to go all-out, make a reservation at Emeril's in Citywalk. This is food you need to get dressed up for!

Tchoup Chop is a great choice! That is a regular stop for me. Try the Banana Cream Pie for dessert! I classify it as the best dessert I've ever had! But be sure to share; it is huge!!

I've only been there twice and have only eaten at one nice restuarant, which was Mythos. It was very nice, the food was good and the atmosphere was great. Love the rock work inside the place. I will definitely go back there when i visit Universal Studios Adventure islands.

Mythos lovers out there - do you book a lunch reservation or just walk in? I'm so used to ADRs for Disney being a must - I wasn't sure how things go at US. We usually eat lunch early and have never had a problem at the studios before but we have never done a sit down meal at IOA.

All I've ever done is walk up to the dining guest service kiosk near The Hulk (it's on the other side of the bridge though, not on the same side the Hulk is) and make a reservation there. They have the menus for all the restaurants and you can make your reservation without a lot of advance notice. I think I made my ressie for Mythos for about 2 hours after I walked up to the kiosk.

Thanks - I didn't think it would be the hassle that Disney Dining has become in recent years but couldn't be sure.

I don't think you can go wrong with either Mythos or Emeril's. My only word of warning is to avoid their counter service restaurants like the plague. In my experience, they were rather dreadful.
