Universal in August?

Okay, so we always seem to go in November and December, but this time it will be the 3rd week of August. I know it will be steamy and most likely rainy, but how are the crowds?

We found the crowds moderate in 2006 Yes, it was hot and steamy. We got a lot done going at park opening Suessland was a walkon for the first two or three hours The bigger coasters at IoA had much longer lines though!

We will be there in Aug too! I've been to both WDW & Univ. in Aug, and crowds are moderate, waits on the major attractions. Prob. not as bad as during the holidays, but you should go with a plan for touring. Hit the major attractions early & plan to get to the park at opening. There is a good post here on surviving Universal without express passes.

We went to Universal and Islands of Adventure over two days during the last week of August 2007. The crowds were light, if I were to judge - having not visited prior to this trip. We didn't wait long at any attraction at either park.

Universal was not busy (on a Wednesday). We didn't walk-on, but waits were very short, with the Mummy being the longest wait, and MIB, if IRC. We rode and saw everything we'd planned, with the exception of ET because DD just doesn't like ET. I think we accomplished a lot, despite the fact that our shuttle dropped us off an hour after expected.

During our day at IoA (a Saturday), our wait times were less than 10 minutes in most cases. We arrived just before the gates opened and rode Hulk and Spidey right away. However, later in the day we noticed the tip board in Suess Landing showed Spiderman had a 60 minute wait.
