Restaurants in and near Universal

Are there restaurants within walking distance of The Doubletree/Universal? We won't have a car so will rely on walking distance or easy I Trolly ride away. I've heard the trolly stops in front of the hotel?
Any recommendations for City Walk or inside the parks? (aside from Mythos!)
Has anyone tried The Kitchen in HRH? We are staying there 1 night.
I leave tomorrow for Florida (Ft. Laud.) but won't be up in Orlando until the 18th.
I wish the parks stayed open late in Aug. Don't know why they start closing earlier, it's still summer!! So I guess most of our dinners will be outside the parks unless we eat early.

Lombards in Universal Studios is great for seafood. Also Emeril's in Citywalk is pretty good-great desserts! I don't have a recommendation for Islands of Adventure.

I can thoroughly recommend Emeril's in CityWalk. We had breakfast a couple of years ago at the Kitchen and it was very good.

I've had the buffet breakfast at The Kitchen once and ordered breakfast a la carte in The Kitchen twice. I've enjoyed it all 3 times, although I think the buffet is overpriced. We ate the breakfast buffet at RPR in 2004 and we never felt more ripped off - didn't enjoy the food, had lousy service and it was overpriced.

At City Walk I like to eat at Pat O'Briens (go for a later dinner and hit the Duelling Piano Bar after); Margaritaville; NASCAR Sports Grill; and NBA City. We had an awful meal at the Hardrock Cafe at City Walk, but that was also in 2004, so things may have changed since then.

I liked eating lunch at Finnegans pub in US.

We love Tchop Chop which is over at the Royal Pacific, that's Emeril Lagasse's other restaurant at Universal, excellent food. We also enjoyed the Kitchen when we ate there a bit ago, I liked the fried chicken but menu may have changed.

We also enjoyed eating at Margaritaville, yummy.

oh since you are styaing at Hard Rock, you definitelly should try Emack and Bolio's, which is an Ice Cream shop. YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY. I love the Cookie Monster Mash. We have to go every time we go to Universal. Now I live in Massachusetts and the company started here and I had never heard of it till I went to the Hard Rock Hotel, how funny is that.

Another vote for Emeril's--we go every year even if we don't go to Universal.

I think Margaritaville in City Walk or Finnegan's in Universal Studios. Both are great places to eat!
