We are doing Universal March 20-26, 2010. I feel a little like a Disney traitor since we have always done Disney, but it is going to work out best for us to do Universal this trip as it is less expensive. We are planning on only doing Universal and we have a two bedroom kidsuite booked at the Nickelodeon Family Suites hotel.

We are planning on going to US and IAF on 1/11 and 1/12. Does anyone know why the hours for these dates are not lisited on the website? We have never done anything in Florida except disney, so this is an entire new thing for me.
We will be statying at POP 1/7-1/10 for the 1/2 marathon. Then plan on leaving WDW Sunday morning and going to sea world and then universal, before our cruise on 1/14.
Any suggestions for hotels in Orlando? Would it be worth it for us to stay Monday night at a Universal hotel? from what I am reading if we do this we get a "special less wait line", for both Mon and Tues. Any info and help would be great!!!
Thanks

Heidi - if you stay in one of Universal's 3 onsite resorts, you get "front of the line access" - show your room key to the team member at the ride entrance and you will be directed into the Express pass line (Express pass is Universal's equivalent of Fastpass, but only available as a purchase option). This will dramatically cut down your wait time. It's also better than purchasing the Express pass because 1) It's free to resort guests, and 2) you can use your card an unlimited amount of times, whereas the Express pass is good once for each attraction.

If you book Monday night at a Universal hotel, you can actually get 2 days worth of front of the line: You can check into the Universal hotel early that morning. Your room won't be ready, but you can obtain your room keys and head to the park. On the day you check out your room keys are good for front of the line access most of the day. It used to be good until 3 pm, but I've heard of people using them all day long on the day you check out.

If you don't want to stay onsite (and early January should be pretty slow and you may not wait in line long anyway), I recommend the Doubletree across from the Universal entrance. It's a really nice hotel with large, super clean rooms, a huge pool, and several restaurants onsite.
