Not for a while yet, but we are looking at December 3 - 6, 2009 (after our Disney Cruise). Staying onsite, more than likely at the Royal Pacific.

Just started posting again, so just seeing this forum... Anyway, we are thinking abotu going in July 2009 for DS 16th b-day. Just now starting to look around for prices on packages, etc. Thinking about staying on-site, but since we also may want to do a WDW trip in Dec 09, trying to keep down costs. Glad to see I can get tips here for Universal too!

If you decide not to stay on-site to keep cost down, check out the Hilton Doubletree-Universal. It's very close, within walking distance, about 15 - 20 min. walk. And has excellent shuttle bus service to Universal. Much better than some of the neighbouring hotels, who only have partial service. Rooms were large & comfy. We did a combo of staying on site 1 night, you get 2 days for express pass with 1 night stay, then moved to Doubletree. The I-Trolley stops on the corner too!

We will be at Universal and IOA next FRIDAY!!!! Very excited... still working out the details for transportation from our hotel. We may bite the bullet and pay for a taxi so that we don't have to travel on Mears picking up and dropping off a few dozen people!!
Getting very excited!!!

Got a great deal on BOGO year free PAPs there summer of '06 & have certainly gotten good use out of them, my teen appreciates the coasters

Finally, have reached Loews YouFirst Platinum status (who-hoo!), just booked 2 nights there end of June before WDW/VWL

For all of u who r on the fence as to visiting, try it...u may like it!

I am planning a big trip to Disney and Universal in 2010 when HPW opens. I wish I knew exactly when that will be.

We are going in the last week of January. We will be visiting Universal. But we are going to stay off site because the rooms at Universal are too expensive comparing to Disney.

As I mentioned in the other post, we stayed at the Hilton Doubletree very close to Universal, with great shuttle service to the park, & reasonably priced. Worth checking out for an off site option.
