| Harry Potter ? Does anyone know how Universal got the rights to do a HP land when it is a Warner Bros. production? Just curious. I figured Six Flags would get the ability to use HP.

| Universal and Warner Brothers are partnered together for this endeavor. This isn't the first time a theme park has added an attraction based on a movie from a different studio. Shrek for example, is Dreamworks. If you want to do a little reading on the HP development, check out Screamscape's page on it - scroll down to Harry Potter: Islands of Adventure Jim Hill has written several articles about the acquisition of the HP rights - Disney had been trying to snag them as well: Jim Hill : Why (For) Disney doesn't feel all that bad about missing out on the theme park rights to "Harry Potter" ? Rumor had it that JK Rowling had the final say, and she really knew what she wanted. Evidently Universal had the plan that she liked! I don't think Six Flags had the cash to come up with a spectacular plan befitting HP coming to life, and I don't know if they were even interested. Hope those links offer some info for you!

When I visited the park in June, it looked like the project was just under about half way finished. They plan on opening in early 2010. I imagine the place will be a madhouse!!! It looked pretty cool...I hope I won't be disappointed!
