Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit?
Hello,

We are heading to Universal for Labor Day weekend and we are hoping for the new ride to be open. Does anyone know or even think it might be open before or on Labor Day weekend?

From what I have heard, it should be open literally any day now - they have been doing test runs for some time now. I hope someone can fill us in on what is going on!

They were still working hard on it and ran a few test runs when we were there last month (6/22 and 6/23) . . . they still didn't have a firm opening date at that time though. However, I have heard that they have been testing at full speed for a few days now and, rumor has it, the soft opening may be very soon.

Here are a few pics I took that have the coaster construction in it . . . near it . . . etc.


90 degree straight up lift tower (and subsequent steep drop) . . . over Jimmy Neutron

From in front of Disaster.




Turning the corner to head towards Twister, Shrek 4D, the entrance/exit, etc.


Same spot . . . looks like you go totally on your side here . . .

Everything else was pretty well blocked off and/or hidden from view of the rest of the park, but this is what I could see. I probably won't ride it, but when I make it back for Harry Potter next year, I will have to take some more photos!

I just finish reading that they have found what was going wrong with the ride and are currently working on it. Also, rumor has it they will open mid-August unless they fix the problem soon and nothing else goes wrong it will open even sooner.

Yayyy!!! My family is extremely excited, we are rollercoaster fanatics.

still not open when i was there a few days ago and we asked and they said they don't have a firm date yet. i did see some people in the seating area though...i don't know if they were working on it or what not....it looks crazy terrifying...i cant wait lol

No news yet - the only I found was a speculation on screamscape that it may not open until HHN in October. Be sure and let us know what you find out on your trip!
