| I'll be going to both, and am trying to figure out if there would be a better day to US. What I'm trying to say is, I want to miss big crowds wherever possible (going in Jan). We'll be able to do parks from Saturday through Thursday. Any ideas? Dorothy in Kansas |

| On our trip in June, we headed to US on a Tuesday, and then went back on a Friday. Friday was much busier, although the idea of "busy" at US is nothing compared to "busy" at WDW. The Tuesday was perfect though - we had 5 minute waits on just about everything - in fact, I think the longest we waited for a ride was 15 minutes - and that was for Dueling Dragons. Friday's waits were a bit longer - although again, the longest wait was 45 minutes (for the Simpson's) so it's nothing like Disney. I think in general, though, since you're going in January, you'll be even better off. US's park attendance is waaaaay down - from what I've read, US in June was one of its "busiest" times all summer, and as you can see, it wasn't all that busy, especially during the week. I'd be surprised if you encountered even 30 minute waits for ANYTHING on the weekends in January.

| When we went in June, we did a Monday and Tuesday . . . it was hotter than heck (record temps, I believe) but was not all that busy. On the Monday at Universal Studios the longest wait we had was 15 minutes for The Simpsons and Men in Black . . . on Tuesday at Islands of Adventure, DFIL decided to get everyone the Express Pass, but even so, most rides didn't even need it. It was a walk on (5 minute wait MAX) for The Hulk and Spiderman . . . but naturally, the water rides -- Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges -- had longer waits. I think DH, DFIL and DD waited 20 minutes for each. Like Molly said . . . Universal's "busy" is nothing compared to Disney's "busy". :

| And I bet weekends are the days to avoid at WDW, right? So, weekends at US and weekdays at WDW to avoid crowd? Sound about right? And like you said, January, probably don't need to worry at all about crowds at US. |

| Weekdays at US/IOA are much slower than the weekends.
