Question about to and from wdw/universal

I'm just wondering, those that go from a Disney hotel to Universal and back...I know you can call for a bus and I believe it to be in the $15-20 per person range. But how far of a ride is it?

Basically i'm wondering, would it be easier/faster/cheaper to take a cab?

We took a cab once and it was about $50, it will depend on traffic. Depending on your group size (we have 4) a cab or renting a car can be cheaper. We rent from the disney car center and it is easy!

Check out this thread - it has info on transportation options that may be helpful:

Transportation from Disney to Universal?

It's going to be about a 20-30 minute drive from Disney, depending on where you're coming from and if you're traveling during rush hour.

We once took a cab in Orlando and they charged a flat rate as you said. However, last summer in DC they added to the base rate for each extra person. I wonder if that is just the case there or if more cab companies are going to that practice?

I'm sure a cab is quicker but it would definitely cost more. We always use the Mears shuttle and it costs about $15 per person for the round trip. It take about an hour to get from your Disney resort to US because it stops at other resorts for pick-up on the way.

We found a van rental for $38, much cheaper than mears and easier. the disney car carecentre will send a shuttle to pick you up to go get the car, then shuttle you back to your hotel or any park when you are done! we found it on orbitz
