| "Augmented Reality" Map of Wizarding World of Harry Potter Today's edition of USA Today (Thursday, January 28) includes a special map of Universal Orlando's new Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you log into Wizarding World of Harry Potter and hold the map up to your computer's webcam, you'll be able to navigate this new section of Universal Islands of Adventure in 3D. They say you can even make banners on the map wave if you blow into your computer's microphone! (I don't have a copy of USA Today, so I have to take this all on faith.) Starting Friday, the same experience will be available without needing the special USA Today map, at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Universal Orlando Resort . This new section of Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure is set to open in "spring 2010" (sorry, nothing more precise than that from official sources).

| the map will be available for printing at home from the site probably beginning tomorrow, so getting USA Today isn't mandatory. There's also a little bit of a video that shows how the experience works which you can see at Walt Disney World, Disneyland and The Walt Disney Company News : StitchKingdom.com

| I'm glad to hear we won't need a copy of the USA Today to get the affect. The aren't that plentiful in my neighbourhood.

| Did anybody try it? I printed off my map and gave it a look. That's some pretty cool technology. I can't find the microphone on my computer  so I couldn't blow to get the banners waving faster, but it doesn't need that anyway. After seeing that map, DH & I are pretty excited to be going there this Fall!

| It works great with a map that iIprinted from the website. I can't wait to surprise my girls with it later! Neat technology, I can only imagine where they could take it in the future!
