Doing something very different.

I just booked a NON-Disney trip! GASP!

I don't have the money to do a full on WDW vacation this year, but I wanted to get out of town at least for a couple of days, so we're doing the next best thing. We booked a short get away to Universal for November! I haven't been there in a couple of years, and I haven't done the new Harry Potter stuff, so for a LOT less money, we are going to stay in a 3 star hotel on Irlo Bronson for only $33 per night and a two day pass to Universal IOA. Of course I can't get that close and not do something Disney, so we are having our first meal at Ohana, and we are going to tour some of the resorts and hit DTD while we are there. I WILL get some sort of Disney fix this year! lol I just hope it won't be torture to not be able to do the parks and have them right under my nose.

It will be fun! My kids are dying to do the new HP stuff. I love little getaways like that. They always make me feel rejuvenated when I come home.

Congrats on your trip! We are doing a (mostly) non-Disney trip this year too. We go to Orlando every year for a week in October and always spend the week doing Disney things. This year we decided to try the other parks as well. I purchased an Orlando Flex Ticket which will allow us access to IOA, US, Sea World, Aquatica and Wet n' Wild. We haven't seen WWOHP either so we are really looking forward to that!! Because we must have some kind of Disney fix, we are going to MNSSHP and spending 1 day at DHS and 1 day at Epcot. We're also having DD's birthday dinner at Whispering Canyon and doing the haunted carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness.

Enjoy your trip and enjoy Universal!!

You'll love WWoHP. We did a non Disney trip this summer and it was torture looking at all the exits for WDW. US and IofA were good, not Disney, but they still have some cool rides. My boys actually like MIB ride better than Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.
