Plane and Simple - Where are the discounts for Universal?
We don't go there, so I can't help our friends with this one. They've been scouring and already looked at Mousesavers, too. They're thinking of doing 2 days with 2 pre-teen children. They're spending most of their days a WDW. They found that the prices for fastpasses were more than the price of tickets. Any ideas?
A friend just got her Universal tickets through Undercover Tourist and said they saved a bit.
When are they going? They may not need the fastpass option.
Are they AAA members? That'll save them a bit at restaurants and gift shops.
They're going this summer - not sure if it's June or August. They've used AAA in the past for Disney Tickets, so I'll remind them of that. They were hoping for more of a discount than Undercover Tourist, but that is definitely an option. Sea World and Disney just have great discount offers and I really thought Universal would, too.
I guess Universal feels they don't need to offer discounts when the Harry Potter area is pulling people in by the barrelful. We're going in three weeks, yay!, and bought military tickets. Those are discounted, but you have to be military, of course.
Good luck!

Mousesavers is the first place I check. AAA next. Also, sign up on Universal's website to get emails - sometimes they email special offers. And call Universal's reservation line and ask if there are any available discounts during that time. You won't get a break on tickets, but they usually have some discounts on resorts from time to time.
I just saw tickets at Costco, and that is where we bought ours 2 years ago. I think the price for a 3 day non expiring ticket is about the same as a 2 day elsewhere, and if you only use 2 days, you have the other day to use another time.
We like to spend at least one night at a Universal Hotel, both for the convenience, and the front of the line access. We tend to start our vacation with a night or 2 at Universal, then move to the Disney bubble.
