New Community Feature: Achievements System About This Page:

I'm pleased to introduce another new feature for our community: Achievements

With our new Achievements system, your contribution to our community is calculated on a variety of factors: number of posts, replies, threads, uploaded pictures to your photo album, number of days you've been a member, so on and so forth. Points are assigned to each of these achievements and points are awarded. You can view your current achievements and points by going to My Home > Your Profile > then click on the Achievements tab.

You'll see that you've achieved a certain level already (there is a maximum of 100 levels). You can also see how you rank among other members at the Rankings page.

What can you do with all those points? Redeem them for rewards! You can get achievement rewards for reaching certain milestones, such as making 1000 replies. You can also get "pixie" rewards to brighten your day -- such as little Holidays pixie for holiday cheer. The pixie rewards can be sent to others as well -- this is great way to spread good will among the members! All rewards appear below your signature -- hover your mouse over them to see the reward name and how many you've collected.

Awards are also given to members who have contributed in amazing ways. These awards are given automatically and, when received, will appear as a small icon beside your name for all to see, as well as listed on the Awards page.

We can add new rewards and awards as we go -- suggestions are always welcome!

Can you explain in more detail about the different ways of earning points? What are referrals, infractions, etc?

Referrals are when you tell a friend or family member about PassPorter Boards, they come and join us, and they type in YOUR member name during the registration process. That's a referral.

Infractions you do not need to worry about -- that is what we give people who spam our message boards with advertising and somehow I doubt they are concerned about earning points.

I do have a question though Jennifer - how do you send those pixies to others? (It's probably right in front of my face, but I haven't been able to figure it out - thanks! )

Here's how to send a pixie to another person:

1. Go to http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...ce.php?go=shop (you can find this link again by going to My Home > Your Profile > Achievements tab > Achievements Rewards Shop)

2. Click on the Community Pixies folder

3. Redeem points for a pixie

4. Once you've redeemed points, click on the Rewards List link ( http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...go=shop&do=own )

5. Locate the pixie you just got and click the Give Away link, then type the member name of the person you want to give the pixie to, and click Submit.

That's it! The person gets a private message with notification about the pixie, but you may also want to send them a personal note too.

Note: There's currently an issue with receiving a pixie that makes it unable to give the same pixie away. If someone gave it to you, you can't give that same pixie to someone else. This should be fixed in the next version.

So, a few days ago, a member gave me some community reward pixies (I believe it was the bon voyage pixie and the gift pixie). The notification showed up in "my home," and I clicked each one, viewed the pixie, and then discarded the message. However, the pixies didn't show up in my signature. What did I do wrong?
