I'm not sure if it will take off the cover color as well, but rubbing alcohol gets permanent marker off. You might want to test it on the edge or on the inside first to check!

I have used a pen on a Passporter exactly once.... I then had to literally drive across state lines to buy a replacement because everyone was sold out and using white out" on my beautiful Passporter just would not due : )

I have since ALWAYS used pencil as I seem to make changes even while in WDW!

I start as soon asI get my new PP. I use highlighters & sticky tabs on things I know I want to do/try. I use pencil for all planning until about a week out. Then I go over everything in pen (confirmation numbers, flight times, important phone numbers & addresses).

I usually just use pencil or sticky notes everywhere while we're still working on dates, etc. Then when we actually have the trip booked, I fill out everything in pen, and get rid of sticky notes that I don't need any more!

I also use labels on the outside, or other shiny cover parts of the book. That way I can peel them off if something changes!

I start the minute I take it out of the box!! Just getting that book in the mail is like a celebration to me! I do, however, ALWAYS write in pencil! Like you, I learned the hard way back when I got my very first one! Now it's all in pencil b/c there are so many variables! I've yet to have a trip that didn't have a flight schedule change (or 2 or 3)!!

I start as soon AS i have any tentative idea as to when and what I'm doing. And yes I also use pencil only so I can make changes. I also use a notebok with it so I don't have to erase too much.
