Same here -- spiral-bound first year, deluxe & refills ever since!

Deluxe the is only way to go! Just like everyone else has mentioned, u can pop out what pages u and leave the rest behind. We just took our pocket folder for the day to keep up with our receipts and made notes on the back when we could. I actually brought them out tonight and shared them with my kiddos. My youngest DS, 10, wanted more messages from him! LOL Make note to that!

Starting to wonder if there are more Deluxe's out there or if the Deluxe owners are more fanatical. I too am Deluxe all the way.

I picked up the spiral one from Barnes & Noble a couple of days ago. We decided to go with that one because we want to keep it after our trip to look back and remember everything.

I used spiral 2010 and 2011 for 2012 I bought the deluxe...Love the deluxe, I like being able to take the pages out makes for a more comfortable writing experience during my planning stage...and later I think buying the refill is gonna work best for me ...

I like that you can keep the pages and pockets you actually used when you have the Deluxe. Don't have a bookful of stuff you didn't do or couldn't use.

I'm getting a nice box to keep the 2010 pages from our last trip when the 2013 pages become available and I re-load for our forthcoming trip. Scrapbookers could easily incorporate pieces of the pages or the pages/pockets into a book for each trip. Of course, you could cut up the spiral book, too, but sure is easy to select a page or pages when you have the Deluxe binder.

As others have said, once we had our resort booked, I removed all the other resort pages. Did that, too, for the pages about stuff for kids to enjoy since it's just DH and me. I really like being able to customize the Deluxe to meet our specific needs.

I tucked a strip or two of those little white donut stickers that reinforce binder paper holes in a pocket in case any of the pages start to tear. The pages I figured we'd use most often got reinforced shortly after I bought the Deluxe.

I like the concept of the Deluxe because I can add pages of notes in the middle of the book. Plus I can add the addition pocket pages for out longer trips or when we take more than one trip in a year. I just think the binder it comes in is UGLY! so I either spend hours retro fitting the deluxe pages to fit in a PRETTY binder or I just buy the spiral bound book and deal with all my loose pages and pockets.

Yeah, I hate that golden brown myself. Sure wish it was available in either black or brown.

I think I'm going to stick with spiral. I am left handed and binders tend to make it hard for me to write.

Our upcoming trip in January will be the first time we've used the spiral edition. I've been using the deluxe one since 2003 but the shipping costs to Canada have become ridiculously expensive so I had to buy a copy up here and the only version available in the book stores is the spiral version. Hopefully, I will enjoy using this one as much as my beloved deluxe.

I think it'll work very well for you (I've always been a spiral guy). After all, the heart of the book is the same.

If I may ask, which store had the book?
