| ID Tags??? Hey there everyone - I am hoping someone can help me out. My 2 1/2 year old son has Autism. I want to get him some ID tags to put on him while we are in Disney just incase - he doesnt speak at all and understands very little. I did get him dogtags but he has loads of sensory issues and hates wearing it - he also has a bad habit of taking off his shoes - thought about the tattoos but I am afraid they will come off while he is sweating. Does anyone have any ideas?? Thanks in advance!! |

| I just posted a similar question about safety labels for my children. What I've ended up doing is cut out the shape of Mickey's head and put all pertinent information on them. I laminated them and put a hole punch in the top. I plan to safety pin them near the waist band of their shorts. Ideally, tucked enough under the shirt that they forget about, but sticking out enough so that if an adult noticed a child alone would be able to figure out to look at it. Fingers crossed that we never need to use them. Good luck...I'm sure you'll get lots of different ideas! ![]() |

| How about a sportsband for the wrist? I was looking into a medical ID bracelet the other day and come across this. http://http://www.stickyj.com/medica...bracelets.html

| Try mypreciouskid.com they have all kids of ID kits. You can get a temporary tattoo that perhaps wouldn't bother your child once you put it on. We got loads of stuff from there last year because I was so paranoid about losing my grandson. |

| My autistic son is 14 years old now....we got a Medic Alert ID for him years ago....it's great because they maintain any medical information & if you change your phone numbers, you let them know....my son would not tolerate dog tags or even something pinned to his shirt....we ordered the bracelet & he adapted - it really won't come off. Medic Alert recently announced a partnership with the Autism Society of America...I can't find the link right now, but here is a general link to Medic Alert Medical Conditions - Autism - call and they will work with you. I can't say enough about their service - one less thing to worry about! My son can't stand the shoe things - anything that doesn't "belong" - comes off - and he usually chews it!! Good luck!!

| I have a 20 year old son with autism who goes to WDW every year. Whose Shoes ID work for some kids, although mine pulls them off too. We tried the tattoos, which he found very amusing; they will soak off in the pool. You can write his name and your cell number inside his shoes with a marker; nothing sticking out and first responders often look in shoes. A strip of adhesive or masking tape with your last name & cell number can be attached to a shirt, pocket edge, or any place it won't annoy him too much. One thing my son did like was the pin lanyards, so we got him one to wear with one of those dangly things (like a giant pin) on the clip. You can write your name and phone and stick it to the back of that, or select one that has a holder for tickets and put the info there (keep his name covered), or pick a light-colored lanyard and use a laundry marker to write his info directly on it. If all else fails, let him get a set of mouse ears or whatever hat he likes and stick his name & number inside it. He'll probably want to wear it every day!

| I believe guest services still has a program where they print stickers with the name of the resort and some explanation of the disability. A few years ago, I sat behind a hearing impaired child, and his sticker explained that the adults might be speaking loudly so the boy could hear. Has anyone seen these stickers lately?

| I did a little searching. I'm not sure if Disney supplies these. I BELIEVE the woman said she got the little sticker from her resort, but it was a while ago. For now, what I'd suggest is get those name-tag stickers and put the hotel, cell phone contact info, etc.
