| Can anyone recommend Scootaround? I was doing an online search because I have decided I need to rent a power chair for Disney. I have my own power chair, but last year my battery couldn't handle the day. So I wanted to rent a bigger chair with more power so I don't have a tired 7 year old trying to push my chair through Main Street anymore or sitting on Main Street at 1am attached to a power outlet trying to get enough power to get on the bus. While I think the basket on the scooters is a real nice thing to have and so is the handle bars to lean on, I was MUCH happier in my power chair. I was able to maneuver much more easily, I didn't have anything in front of me so I could get close to counters and things and getting around busy stores was a breeze too. I did one year in a scooter and hated it, I brought my power chair the next year and LOVED it (except for the battery issue) and the rental says I can do 25 miles a day or 8 operating hours in their chairs. They say their batteries last as long as the ECV batteries. I liked that about the ECV's, the batteries were always ready to go as long as I was. Also, I cannot load the chair in and out of my van by myself. I know I need to learn to, but I think I need the van fitted for a power lift and right now finances don't allow. So that's another reason to get a rental vs bringing my own. Has anyone used scootaround? The rate is $225 for the week, which is around where I expected it to be. | Yes, I am very familiar with the ECV link, but this was a question about a specific company. Some companies don't rent power chairs. Scootarama does have power chairs, but they have the exact same model I do with a 10 mile limit per charge. With scootarounds chairs, they tell me they can go 25 miles per day because they have bigger batteries. I'm looking for specific experience with this company before I make the investment as they require payment up front. |

) close the door and we're off. The same companies that install power lifts should be able to give you the info on ramps as well. Good luck!
