| Any tips for the barely pregnant woman at Disney? My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and won't know until the week before we leave for the World if I am pregnant. I am trying to plan ahead just in case. If I were to get pregnant, I would be about 6 weeks along. Do you have any suggestions on things to stay away from or things to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is not my first trip to WDW so I have ridden pretty much everything except EE, ToT, RnRC and Toy Story Midway Mania.

| I tell people with disabilities and who are pregnant one key important thing about their trip to DLR, WDW or anything else in life. Is the experience worth the consequences? I would love to ride Indiana Jones at DLR and Dinosaur at WDW but I know that I will run the risk of severe back pain and even permanent damage to my back thus NO WAY. A person with a weak heart may so dearly want to ride something but would it be worth a month in the hospital? If the baby is born damaged will you be willing to live your life wondering if that experience caused the damage even if the damage was not related to the experience. In theory a pregnant woman could do roller coasters in her second trimester with no problem but is the risk and guilt worth it. Since you will be first trimester the main thing is the changes in your body. Things like morning sickness can wear you out so do not over do your trip if you get morning sickness. Being a trooper and marching on even when you are sick will add up in the end and on the last part of the trip will not be fun for anyone. Stay hydrated, rest often, eat regular meals, and watch your diet. Talk to your doctor to see what he suggests.

| On one of our trips I was 5 weeks along...I stayed away from all thrill rides. Probably the roughest thing I went on was POTC and even that made me a bit nervous! I spent a lot of time on Small World and Haunted Mansion! Did not even do Kilimanjaro Safari at AK. I agree that talking to your doc would be wise, but for me, it was better safe than sorry. You can still enjoy the parades and shows and hopefully you won't have wicked morning sickness so you can indulge in Mickey Bars! It was by far the most relaxed trip we've had, since there was no rushing to get in line for the "e-ticket" attractions. We just let our 3 year old take the lead! Good luck!

| Hi there! Your wedding photo is beautiful! I'd agree with the OPs who suggest caution if you have concerns about thrill rides. I've known alot of people who have very bad nausea early on. They say that smells can really aggravate that, so I'd watch out for strong food smells or those attractions with stinky effects like It's tough to be a bug and Stitch's Great Escape!

| I think I answered this in another forum for you with some other tips but one thing I forgot to say was pack some simple satine crackers in your bag that you will carry in the parks. Morning sickness is a funny thing, and it doesn't neccesarily only show up in the morning!! (a man musta named it!!LOL!!) I also found it much better to "graze" all day eating a little here and there...it seemed to settle my stomach a lot better than 3 big meals a day. And lollypops, when I was feeling sick and really feeling like I couldn't eat a thing I would suck on some lollypops and it would make me feel better.

| I also agree with asking your doctor for their opinion on which rides to stay away from. I was one who got morning sickness very early on. And very shortly it left me unable to do anything. I had to be put on medication in order to even be able to function (i.e. get out of bed). Certain smells also made things worse for me.

| Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Rest, rest, rest. I did WDW when I was 5 mos along (in August, no doubt!). I didn't ride any of the thrill rides, just enjoyed the slower things and the atmosphere. I carried crackers, ginger snaps, and ginger ale with me (I was still queasy) and spent plenty of time on benches or indoor seating areas with my feet up and snacking. The pace was definitely slower.

| I was there last October at 7 1/2 months. I took a few bottles of water w/me into the parks. We also napped every afternoon. I was much farther along than you so you probably won't have the same issues that I had. I was tired after standing in autograph lines and had to sit. My feet swelled when I just stood there. I also stretched my back and hamstrings really well each night before bed to reduce the strain on my lower back. Some women really like floating in the pool when they're pregnant, too. If you'll only be a few weeks along, you may not have any problems with nauseau, yet. Here's a list of Disney recommended "skip if you're pregnant" rides: Rides that Disney suggests expecting mothers should skip: (Please check your guidemap for the complete list of ride restrictions) - Magic Kingdom: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Goofy's Barnstormer, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Indy Speedway; Epcot: Body Wars, Test Track; Hollywood Studios: Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Star Tours; Animal Kingdom: Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest
