Scooter on WL boats

Hello! My mom will be traveling with us and is in an electronic scooter. Do you know if she will be able to take the boat from WL to the Contemperary or if we need to go on the bus? Also any other hints on traveling in a scooter??? Thanks!

The water level will effect whether or not scooters can be used on the boats. If it's not the right height, they can't use the ramps safely.

It depends on the water level

Even if the water level is optimal, she will not be able to take the small water launches that run between the WL, Contemporary and FW as they are not equipped, nor big enough to handle wheelchairs of any kind and strollers must be folded down. The only launch she'd be able to take would be the large Magic Kingdom launch. If you need to get to the Contemporary, the best way would be to get to the Magic Kingdom and then to walk back to the Contemporary or to take a taxi.

Do you happen to know if an ECV will fit into a taxi? And an estimate of how much that would be from WL to Contemp?

Correct info:For all motor launches,
ECVs cannot be accommodated on motor launches under any circumstances.
Why not take the bus to Magic Kingdom then hop the monorail to the contemporary.. Makes for a fun trip
I use a ECV & have never used a taxi to get around. There is always a way to get around Disney..

The only boat you can take with an EVC or wheel chair would be the ferry from the TTC and the boat to the MK from the WL. The small boats to the Contemporary and FW aren't able to handle either EVC or wheelchairs.

I wouldn't take a taxi. Just take a bus to MK and then either walk to the Contemporary or take the monorail.

The Friendship boats on Crescent lake (going to the Epcot resorts, Studios & Epcot) are also accessible to power chairs and scooters.

Just agreeing. We've been on them many times.
But, the boats that go across World Showcase Lagoon are not accessible to the WDW park rental ECVs. The park rental ones have a bumper on the front that prevents them from going up the steep ramp at the boat docks. Since the park rental ECVs can't go out of the park, the info about the Crescent lake boats doesn't apply to them.

I'm glad to read about this. My husband is going to use an ECV this year and he really wants to ride the boat from DHS to the ESPN club. We have never used the boats and thought it would be a nice ride.

Whew, that's a relief to hear. How else would someone in a scooter get from BCV over to DHS? Is it feasible to drive your ECV all the way over there along the walkway by BWV?

I actually rented an ECV at Epcot in July and they did let me on the boat going across World Showcase Lagoon. But I had a heck of a time manuevering it. I kept hitting the benches and wall. Very embassassing. Needless to say I scooted around the Lagoon the rest of my stay.

I don't see why not. ECVs are supposed to run all day so you should be able to drive it over to DHS from Boardwalk. You can walk over from Boardwalk to DHS (I've done it a number of times myself) so there's no reason you shouldn't be able to scoot over on an ECV.
