| A question about lift recliners? My DH has no use on the left side of his body and sleeps in a lift recliner because of severe pain. Whenever we are in WDW and he has to sleep on a flat bed, it is torture for him as well as for me. He has to get up and sit at least 3 or 4 times a night and I of course have to help him. This makes me very tired and cranky and is the only real downside of our disney trips. I was looking around on a medical equip. rental site and noticed that Care mobility rents and delivers the lift recliners. Here is my question. Does anyone know if disney would allow one into a handicap accessible room? This would save me and DH a lot of sleep if they did.

| I would contact the same number you use to make reservations for Disability accessible rooms and ask them about that directly. Also if you have trouble with them being able to answer your question, try using the # in Passporter for the resort your staying at, explain the situation and that you need to speak to someone at the resort directly (that number goes to a central number and isn't at the resort) and they should be able to get you a Manager at your Resort who can work on your behalf to find out for sure what will be allowed.

| Thanks Amy, that's funny that you are responding to my post while I am reading and responding to your Sanibel trip post. I don't really have a trip planned yet where we would need the chair, but you never know when one might come up. The kids are already talking about Aug. 2010. If any has ever used one at disney, please let me know.

A had a client who was a quad, and they were able to fit this 6 foot something guy AND his gigantic power chair with no problem at all at Coronado Springs. I imagine there should be no problem if you can get a Dr.s note that this is necessary. You might try calling 407-824-2222. That is the number I called with a different question, and the person I spoke to (Calla) really took the time to be sure she got me the correct info. Thanks for posting, and please let us know if you have any other questions!

| I have heard of hospital beds and hoyer lifts being delivered to the rooms. As stated just call the disabilty line for rooms as they do lots of stuff like allergen cleaning, bed rails, braille, rooms for the deaf, etc. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plain-text/hotels/ Quote:

| On another discussion board, I know of several people who rented a recliner. It was coordinated through the special needs department. They worked with making sure the delivery was done at the correct time to the correct room. In the case of hospital beds, they also work with Housekeeping to move other furniture in the room if necessary. |
