By the way...my advice is to talk to your doc before taking anything (even the over-th-counter stuff) before you go on the plane. Remember that medication can act wonky when (a) you're under stress (b) you're in a plane (pressurized air, ears popping, etc.). Years ago, my doc gave me a few Xanax for flying and said "take a half of one before you get on the plane" and it felt like I had been knocked out by a prize fighter!
When I told him about it upon landing, he said that sometimes meds can do that. Just an idea.
Watch what meds you take because airlines can remove a passenger or prevent a passenger from boarding if they appear intoxicated or are not able to fly. A passenger who is groggy or irrational can be prevented from boarding. They do not need breath or blood tests to remove a passenger for unsound mind, drinking, or medical problems. So do not overdo the meds to where you are in happyland too much.
I bring food which calms me, keepmy mind very busy, and keep reminding myself to breath in and out. I tell myself it is just like Disneyland. I have rode out some wild turbulance because I kept thinking of Hawaiian Roller Coaster with an image of the bobsleds and other roller coasters in mind. Whoop that was a nice dip and we are climbing up for a nice ride on the roller coaster. I think every flight I have been on has had fears or anxiety. Each one was gotten through by using mind games and food.

Mom calls to check on me and reminded me to pay the gardener. I love her so much.
Disneyland was fun with flag retreat and pickles. I have a home here, thank you. GAC is NOT a "front of the line pass".
She is gone but keeping signature. Laundry is getting done. My purpose in life is to help poor people in FL. Farewell, will miss you.

What I did was try the meds my doctor gave me weeks before my trip to be sure how I would feel. I took 1/2 a Xanax & was fine, happy & non stressed.. So I felt safe flying with 1/2 a pill.. I agree some people have different reactions to the drug & may appear intoxicated. You can never be too careful with meds..

Thank you all!!!!!!! I'm still anxious but hearing you say it'll be ok and I've been there helps a lot!!!! I will def check out the book and bring distractions.
Playing cards helped me last summer. DD and I got involved in a wicked game of gin, and I *almost* forgot that we were at the airport. For the plane ride, sea bands helped me tremendously.
