| mine has changed a bit since I posted. I am a neurovariant and daughter of a neurovariant. I have SID and am hypersentitive mostly. I am now on thyroid medicine that seems to be helping a bit. Still have the scoliosis, astigmatism, bad disc, morbid obesity, skeletal damage, and other things as well as celiac and food sensitivities. Neurovariant is a person with a miswired brain. A lot of neurovariants do not fit one category and but are on the autism spectrum or close to it. It is easier to say than try to list everything wrong with me to some degree.

| My son has hidradenitis supprativa. We are going back to Disney in December for the first time since he became disabled. He is really looking forward to it. He's 17 now, and has gone through 2 years of multiple surguries and hospitalizations. |

| My son (now 14, will be 15 on our next trip) has an undiagnosed disability. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when he was 5 and then the diagnosis was taken away when he was 7! His muscle tone improved too much! Anyway, he has a severe learning disability with fine and motor skill delay, speech delay and suffers from migraines. We have taken him to WDW twice, aged 5 and 11 and to DLP three times, aged 3, 5 and 7 and have never had any problems. I also suffer from migraines but they have been part of my life for so long that I don't consider them to be a disability. Great thread by the way. |

| I saw several of my medical conditions on the list but never think of them as disabilities. Type 1 Diabetes, Hashimotos and heart problems. The only time I ever used a GAC was when my son was 6 and had severe psorasis. He had open wounds (non contagious) on his feet and had to stay in his stroller most of the time with no shoes or socks on his feet. He could walk with footwear on but it was painful. We only used the card when the pain in his feet were unbearable. Getting the card was a nightmare but thats for another post. In Feb 2010 my Mom will be traveling with us to WDW and will also be bringing her service dog. My Mom had a stroke several years back and her service dog does things for her that she cannot. She refuses to use a wheelchair and with her service dog she can get around like most folks. She will however need a GAC at times when she is worn out. I am wondering if getting the GAC is going to be a hassle. Any feedback on experiences with service dogs?

| Welcome to our group Stacy. We do have a few members that use service dogs. You may want to post a new thread to ask for info. Deb

| Thank you everyone for your great contributions! This thread has been closed in order for us to keep a better track of your special needs. A new thread, "Different-abilities" List, has been created. A PDF has been compiled with everyone's contributions. This thread will not be deleted, and you can find a link to it in the new thread if you wish to look back on this great information. Thanks Passporters!
