Re: Your WDW First Aid/Medicine Kit Great suggestions you guys. I always stick a card in ours with all of Teddys meds and doses and all his allergies(he has TONS of med allergies). I figure it is a pretty small chance that anything would occur where I wouldn't be able to speak for him but you never know.

Re: Your WDW First Aid/Medicine Kit Must have Bonine (meclazin) chewable anti-nausea tablets. One each morning helps prevent unpleasant results from rides. We also carry a spray version of Bactine--no sting, good all-purpose scrape and burn remedy. An ice bag and a heating pad have also come in handy for us. We'll have the new no-water painkiller with us next time too as well as chewable baby aspirin. Yalibrarian Manassas, VA

| Re: Your WDW First Aid/Medicine Kit moleskin Bandaids Packets of Neosporin Advil Ammodium Calsace a couple blister packs of DayQuil and Nightquil (to get through until next day) a few cough drops Zantac a few disposable thermometers all prescription meds The only ones I carry around are a couple Band-Aids, a packet of Neosporin, a couple Zantac, and a packet of Advil--I always carry these with me though. And for me, a card detailing my asthma and allergies, as well as the medications I take. This last one came in handy last weekend when I was treated by paramedics for an asthma attack and couldn't speak to give them info--I pulled the card out and they had everything they needed to know. | Re: Your WDW First Aid/Medicine Kit I also bring along "Tempanol" you use it if you lose a filling, belive me I learned the hard way. It's not for major reconstruction but if you have a filling fall out it works great. I bought mine at Wal Mart.I always take it when ever I travel because you just never know. |

\"Beat the Heat\" Tips OK, it's summertime and it is HOT at WDW . I love visiting the parks when it's mid-winter here in upstate NY, but that's not always possible. There are a number of health conditions and/or medications that make being in the heat and sun very uncomfortable. So, it's 98 degrees, the humidity is 90% and the sun is making the pavement hot enough to melt a Mickey Bar on contact. What do you do to stay cool(er)?! Please share your ideas with fellow PassPorters- feel free to include ideas that have helped your youngsters, infants and older parents too .DD decided to put fashion aside(this was when she was 10, so I'm not sure she'd take the "chance" now ) and soak a bandana in cold water and tie it around her head. I did the same thing, but wrapped the cool cloth around my throat as I didn't want to ruin my "Minnie Mouse" visor!

Re: \"Beat the Heat\" Tips Having a daughter (Samantha) that cannot control her body temp. (Spinal Cord Injuries tend to have no control over this) we have learned over the years to help her stay cool. 1. DO NOT GO SOUTH OF LOUISVILLE,KY IN THE SUMMER 2. Use an umbrella, a light colored one is best, as a sun shade 3. carry one of those fan/water sprayers at all times 4. Take a zip-loc bag, fill it with ice and a touch of water, and put it in your ball-cap, then wear the hat! 5. Drink A LOT of water 6. When at Disney, spend a little of each hour in the A.C., even if it is to walk through it 7. know your body, and listen to when it tells you to stop and rest 8. eat very lightly and very early, then only small, easy to digest snacks until later in the evening (the body creates heat when it is digesting) 9. Needless to say, dress in light colored and light cloth clothes. No polyester. Only cotton and other breathable fabric.

Re: \"Beat the Heat\" Tips At WDW do the waterparks on those really hot days. Or do water rides at the other parks and make sure you get wet. The other parks I would do early in the day or at night. Hang out by the pool during the midday. Spray bottles with fans, and drink lots of water. I also like the ice cube in a bag under your hat. Try one of those wrap around cloth coolers on your neck. For the exception of waterparks all apply to Disneyland and California Adventure too. What ever you do have fun and stay ![]()
