| The Scooterama link is now www.scooterama.com and they have a 300 lb and a 450 lb ECV as well as a motorize wheelchair. I added them to my list of things in case I ever get back to Florida. |

| Scooter Vacations is another great place to rent from (www.scootorlando.com). My niece works for them and set me up with one of their fold-up models during my vacation this spring. I loved it. It was so easy to use and we could put it in our rental car and take it wherever we wanted. Actually, I wanted to take it home with me (I’m adding it to my Christmas list this year J). Everyone there is also really nice and helpful . They charge a deposit worth one day when you make your reservation and charge the rest the day before they deliver your scooter. I think mine was $30 a day, but they have other models too. Anyhow, it’s another place to check out. |

| Hi Holly.... I just got back from a trip last week to the world.......(miss it already). I did good walking all week..until the 6th day. I got all the way to our ressie at the Breakfastosaurus at 9:05 am...and my back finally gave out and my legs decided to go with it. I asked the CM aty the checkin desk for assistance...about 5 minutes later.....the Manager showed up and went to the front of the park to brink a scooter back to me. There are a limited quantity available.....but there was a sea of them when we first got in the park. I had to leave the park about 2 1/2 hours after I got the scooter and wasnt suire what to do. I asked at the rental counter if I cold leave it and come back. They told me to park it in the shade, take my key, and leave my name tag on the scooter. The last scooter was being taken around 12pm as I was asking my question. Believe it or not..we left the scooter for 4 hours in the shade ...and it was still there when we got back. There is a limit and I think it more depends on the crowd for that day. Good luck ...but I would call the park that you are going to that day to see if you can hold a scooter for that day. Hope I helped in some sorta way.....

| Hi DM Littles Thank you so much for the information That makes me feel better. We are going November 25 to December 4th so I think we will try it without getting them outside. Do I see that you stayed at Port Orleans Riverside? That's where we are going - did you like it? HollylovesDisney

| "but I would call the park that you are going to that day to see if you can hold a scooter for that day. " - sorry, but they will not hold or reserve and ECV, wheelchair or stroller for anyone; you have to be phyiscally present in whatever park you are going to and rent the item there. There are limited numbers of these (especially the ECVs) available and they are on a strictly first-come, first-served basis. Even leaving the ECV for the long period of 4 hours could have been risky, because I have seen CMs using their master keys and conducting a "round up" of what they considered "abandoned" vehicles when the demand outstrips the supply.Once you have the ECV ( I'm just going to use that designation here, but this applies to all 3), you can keep the receipt and go to another park and pick up another ECV there, without additional cost. Please keep in mind that they can and do, run out of items to rent and since you will be going at the busy Thanksgiving time, consider renting one for the length of your stay- check out our new Forum sponsor (there's a link in the banner above the title and also a sitcky thread with info), since they are right at The Boardwalk Resort. Depending on your reason for needing an ECV, the peace of mind knowing that you have one when you need it can be well worth it , especially when you want to look at all of those terrific holiday decorations! You can use it on all of the Disney transportation within the parks and to the other resorts and it will also provide you with seating during the parades.Have a great trip and feel free to PM me if there is anything I can help you with ![]()

| My parents (77 and 81) may be joining us on our upcoming WDW trip. My mom would definitely require an ECV for the entire stay (arthritis and joint replacements, limited mobility). Dad on the other had, may be ok just renting them at the parks - although at 81 years of age, with diabetes and having just undergone cardiac surgery I wonder if a length of stay rental may be the way to go for hime too. I have a ton of questions, but here are the two major ones: 1. I've been reading through this thread, but most of the posts are before Buena Vista Scooter became a sponsor. Are their prices / customer service as good as or superior to the other rental companies or are they just more convenient? (especially since we will be staying at the BWI) 2. How much does ECV rental cost per day at the parks? We are going late April into May, so the crowd levels should be moderate. How early do you need to arrive at the park to have the best chance of having a rental available? If my family was to arrive earlier than my parents, could I rent the ECV and leave it for him? Any input would be appreciated. We are so excited that my parents are considering joining us. While they've been to WDW a few times in the past, they've never stayed on property. DM has always wanted to, though.

| Hi Sue, I have not tried Buena Vista Scooters, But I am sure they are great.. We have used Scooter Rentals Orlando, Disney World ECV Electric Scooters at Scootarama.com 4 times & think their service & scooters are great too. I think you would be smart to go ahead & get both parents scooters. Let me tell you your dad may think he can walk the parks but being on his feet for hours & hours will take it's toll. My Dad (84) thought he could walk, But soon realized how nice a scooter was. He had a wonderful time & felt great after a day of scootering. Deb

| Thanks for your response, Deb, and for the link to Scooterarma. I agree that my dad should probably just rent a scooter for the entire stay. I think it can only help to make their trip more relaxing and enjoyable.

| I printed one of the "stroller tags" that says "this magic carpet belongs to:" and then filled in my name and resort and august 2008 so I have it when I come home. I figure my scooter should be magical as well...lol |

| We rented from Buena Vista Scooters for my FIL in April. We talked him into it when he saw the size of the Poly resort. He wanted to just rent at parks....we called that morning and it was delivered a couple hours later when we had returned from our first day at park. It was delivered to Bell Captain. We had no problems with it getting lost or stolen. He took the keys with him though..... We had a lei from Poly on it's handle bars more for finding it in the parks than anything.
