Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

That's so wonderful! I'm so happy for both of you!!! Of course there's no doubt your child will be leading the next generation of Passporter, and you'll be showing him all the tricks of the trade (and will have so many Disney trips under his belt by the time he's 2!!!!) LOL!!!

Re: Pregnant at Disney

Glad to hear all is well with the newest member of your family. I visited the world at about 5 months. I had a great time. We took it slow, drank a lot of water and wore comfortable shoes. I think my evening swims did a lot to help, we stayed onsight and went back tot he room so I could lay down with my feet up. We went before it got really hot, and I think that helped enormously. I hated staying off the rides, but even that was okay...I knew I'd be coming back again with my new son. And we did! We went last october for his first birthday (and first haircut on mainstreet)and had a great time. We had to carry a lot of stuff though, but perhaps that is another thread altogether..."WDW with an baby"?

Again, best wishes!~

Re: Pregnant at Disney

Congrats!!! I went to Disney with DH and DS#1 when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with DS#2. It was a wonderful and relaxing vacation! Everyone was so pleasant and helpful! I did a lot of the things I normally do at Disney, minus the rides, and I drank a lot of water and sat down when I felt like I wanted to, and guess what, no one argued that I wanted to sit down!! That is an acomplishment in itself!!

Congratulations and have fun!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm very happy for you. I relived some of my own experience when reading your posts. I did not have any fertility treatments, but I miscarried twins and had an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy before having our 1st son then I had 2 miscarriages before having our 2nd son. I like you tried to "read" every symptom (or lack of), every twinge, etc. All my miscarriages were discovered in ultrasound so I can relate to how you felt with yours.

May God bless with a smooth remainder to your pregnancy and a beautifu, healthy baby!

These are great tips Jennifer! Maybe in the future I'll be able to make use of them....won't be for another year or two yet.

Re: Pregnant at Disney

Great tips Jennifer!!
We just got back from a 4-day trip to Disneyland Resort this week, and the additional thing I'd recommend is support/compression socks or hose. (I forgot my maternity support belt that I wear for work, but managed okay without it.) My legs felt great with the hose. I'm 6 1/2 mos. pregnant, and I missed all my favorite rides, but got fastpasses for the kids to ride. This gave me time to sit on a bench in the shade and have a cold drink or a snack, or just soak in the atmosphere. Once each day we'd go back to the hotel for a nap and a swim, the low gravity of being in the pool felt wonderful after hours on our feet! I appreciated the swim all that much more! We took it easy, a la Semper Gumby ("always flexible") and the kids were very understanding that mommy couldn't last as long because I had to share my energy with a growing baby.
Since I couldn't ride many of the attractions, we did a few more shows than we normally do, including the new Snow White show. We also spent more time deciding what we'd like to eat before going and making the proper PS's. I'd like to say I was really good and ate perfectly while at DL, but, well, it was vacation, ok?
We did find out that disposable cups of ice water were free at counter service and buffeteria restaurants which was a nice surprise. Something about having ice in the water made it easier to get down my minimum quota and then some. Also kept me from so many sodas and frozen lemonades.
One of the best parts was when we'd be hanging out eating an ice cream or having a frozen lemonade in the shade to cool down and give my feet a break, the kids and I planned all the things we were going to do when baby sister gets here. They are so excited to share Disney parks with their sister, and meeting Mickey, the princesses, the rides, the food, you name it. Just daydreaming with them was so precious. We've already planned out her first princess costume: Cinderella, of course.

Re: Pregnant at Disney

Congrats to the new addition to the family! Though I havent gone to Disney pregnant, I give credit to those who do, mind you with the doctor's permission of course! Better yet, if he says no, bring him along! ha ha But seriously, congrats to you and Dave and Allie, wishing you the best for a healthy baby and much needed sleep after the baby arrives.
